Irvine Royal Cluster has 2 Educational Psychologists – Claire Cunningham (covering Irvine Royal, Castlepark Primary, Castlepark Early Years Centre, Loudoun Montgomery Primary & Early Years, Annick Primary & Early Years & Woodlands Primary & Early Years) and Ashleigh Wilson (Treetops Nursery and Owl & Pussycat Nursery), who meet monthly in a Locality Support Team with Diane Ferguson (Educational Psychologist for Greenwood cluster) and Catherine Paterson (Educational Psychologist for Arran cluster.)
Monthly consultations for each establishment are arranged to allow staff to have discussions on individual children. This can be organised around general themes e.g. attendance, mental health needs, relationships (family breakdown, bereavement, addiction), learning and teaching. If Irvine Royal cluster Heads are planning to hold monthly locality inclusion meetings, Educational Psychologists are available to attend and support solution oriented discussion.
Individual case work can be agreed for the following purposes:
One off consultations with families can be negotiated with the link Educational Psychologist but in most instances more long term direct work will be taken to the locality support team for consideration
Professional Learning via on-line training and coaching is offered around 2 themes - Nurturing North Ayrshire’s Recovery (based on Nurture Principles) and Supporting Neurodiversity (Adapting Approaches to Meet a Range of Learner Needs).
