Uniform

Irvine Royal Academy ‘Believes in Better’. We encourage all pupils to wear full school uniform every day. Not only should our uniform instil a sense of pride, identity and belonging to Irvine Royal, it very much contributes to an ethos of learning and promotes equity, as well as helping us to ensure the security of the building.

Our school uniform consists of the following items:-

· White, Royal Blue or Black polo shirt with school badge

Or

· White shirt with School tie – Blue tie (BGE) and Black tie (Senior Phase)

· Black or Royal Blue jumper, hooded top with school badge or cardigan

· Black trousers, skirt, jeans or leggings with school badge

· School blazer (not mandatory but encouraged)

Royal Resources

At Irvine Royal Academy, we believe that every student should feel confident and included in school. A key part of this is ensuring that all young people have access to the appropriate school uniform, regardless of their circumstances. That’s why we are proud to offer free school uniform items through our Royal Resources Shop.

Our Royal Resources Shop is an initiative aimed at supporting our school community by providing high-quality, pre-loved uniforms at no cost. We also offer casual clothing, warm jackets, toiletries, food, toys and period products.  There is no stigma or judgement—this is a service for everyone who would like to use it.

If you'd like to access the Royal Resources Shop, you can contact the school office or visit on a Wednesday between 11am - 12pm.

Cost of the School Day

At Irvine Royal Academy, we understand that financial challenges can create barriers for young people to fully participate in school life. That’s why we are proud to have a dedicated Cost of the School Day Pupil Group working to ensure every student has equal opportunities to succeed, regardless of financial circumstances.  This group is made up of our amazing pupils who are passionate about making school life more affordable for everyone.

Our Cost of the School Day group proudly participate in Challenge Poverty Week each year, where they engage in a variety of activities that highlight empathy, understanding, and community action.

A highlight of our week was our discussion with Mrs Sloan where pupils had the opportunity to chat about ways to reduce the financial burden of school life on families. During the discussion, students asked thoughtful questions about key initiatives, such as how the school allocates additional funding to support pupils, what steps are being taken to make trips and activities affordable, and the importance of our breakfast club. The Head Teacher highlighted the importance of creating an inclusive environment and praised the group's efforts in identifying practical ways to address these challenges.

Challenge Poverty Week is an opportunity to stand together as a school community and show that we can all take action to tackle inequality.

At Irvine Royal Academy, we believe in breaking down barriers and supporting every young person to achieve their full potential. Together, with the Cost of the School Day Pupil Group, we are making our school a place where everyone feels valued, included, and able to succeed.
