Mentoring

Together, we transform lives through the power of mentoring.

We believe every young person deserves someone in their corner. Someone who listens, believes in them, and helps them discover what they are truly capable of.

The MCR Pathways programme has been a part of our school since 2021 and has been hugely successful. From S3 onwards, young people can be matched with a volunteer mentor. This takes place in school for one period a week and allows young people to have another trusted adult in their life. A mentor is someone who is there to support and encourage young people, is a listening ear and is someone who can offer advice and guidance. Having a mentor has resulted in improved attainment, wellbeing and resilience and has helped young people to move on to a positive destination post school.

Pathway Coordinator

Our Pathways Coordinator, Lisa Campbell, oversees the day-to-day running of the programme. She works alongside our integrated support team to get young people onboarded onto the programme and encourage them to remain engaged. Lisa builds positive relationships with our young people to ensure they are matched with a mentor who is most suited to them. The Pathways Coordinator is a key part of each mentoring relationship.

To find out more about mentoring, please contact Lisa via the school office.

We are currently looking for volunteer mentors across North Ayrshire, if you would like to find out more visit mcrpathways.org
